CONCERT- Silk Road Ensemble, Madison, Wisc., April 2

List members in and around Wisconsin are invited to join us to
celebrate Novruz with a concert by the "Silk Road Ensemble"

Date and Time: Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 P.M.
Location: Great Hall of the Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St., Madison, WI
Free admission!

About the event: Come celebrate Central Asian New Year with a concert
exploring the many musical traditions of the Silk Road, with an
emphasis on the music of Azerbaijan. Shahyar Daneshgar on vocals and
percussion. Novruz Mamedov on vocals, saz and percussion. Rashad
Mamedov on keyboard and accordion. Arif Bagirov on tar and guitar. The
event is free and open to the public.

This Madison performance is sponsored by the Central Asian Student
Association (CASA), The Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central
Asia (CREECA), and the Central Asian Studies Program of the University
of Wisconsin-Madison, with the generous financial support of the
Anonymous Fund of the College and Letters & Science and the Associated
Students of Madison.
