Master Program in Political Science (Central Asia) 2009/2010
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek invites applications for its Master
Program in Political Science (Central Asia). The course is a 13-month
course that will start on 1 September 2009. The OSCE, a number of OSCE
participating States and academic partner institutions in Central Asia
and abroad actively support the activities of the OSCE Academy in
Bishkek, in particular the hereby-announced Master Program.
The Master of Political Science (Central Asia) program focuses on
various issues and approaches in political theory, international
relations, regional and international security, conflict prevention,
management and resolution, activities of international
intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations in the region,
international and regional politics, human rights, and international
development. This program is designed for young professionals who have
already successfully obtained an academic degree or higher educational
degree at an accredited higher education institution.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following admission criteria:
* Successful completion of an academic degree of higher education
(BA, MA, MSc, Specialist) in a related field from a Central Asian or
foreign institution of higher education;
* Excellent knowledge of Russian and English;
* Applicants should not be older than 32 years on 1 September 2009;
* Citizenship preferably of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan,
Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. Students from other OSCE participating and
partner States can be accepted for the Program on a limited basis.
Financing
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek covers travel expenses inside Central Asia
to and from Bishkek and health insurance, and provides monthly grants
of 150 Euros a month plus additional housing allowance. Child
allowance and single parent support are available upon request.
