JOB- Programme Coordinator, Ak Terek, Bishkek

Public Fund "Ak Terek" based in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic is seeking a
Programme Coordinator for its Local Initiatives Programme implemented
as a part of its project "Changes of natural and cultural landscapes
and adaptation to them" funded by the Christensen Fund (USA).
The project focuses on landscape conservation and adaptation practices
and currently being implemented in several communities of Naryn
Province with future expansion to Issyk-Kul Province of Kyrgyz Republic.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Provide management responsibility for Local Initiative Programme in
consultancy with the Project Director and Project Advisory Board.
- Consult with Project Specialists and Project Advisory Board to find
out opportunities for possible new local initiatives;
- Work with applicants from the villages to develop and finalise
their project proposals
- Organise field trips to study communities;
- Monitor local projects through extended site visits, review of
narrative and financial reports and other communication with local
project leaders;
- Participate in other project activities and development of project
materials;
- Communicate with other organizations and projects working in
similar issues to develop complementary strategies and approaches;
- Provide oral and written translation when necessary.

The successful candidate will have:
- University degree in social science;
- Minimum of 3 years experience of working in conservation and
development projects or research activities;
- Understanding the idea of bio-cultural diversity, adaptation
strategies or landscape conservation is preferred;
- Substantial experience in project administration, coordination and
reporting;
- Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills;
- Capacity to work independently and in a team;
- Fluency in Kyrgyz, Russian and English languages is strongly desirable;
