The Electronic Weekly Migration News Reports in Central Asia

The Social Research Center (SRC) at the American University of Central
Asia under its Migration Research Track runs an electronic Network on
Migration in Central Asia (NMCA) that was launched last November. The
aim of the NMCA is to be an information hub for scholars specialized
in migration issues in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. Currently, the
NMCA has more than 150 subscribers from around the world who represent
international development organizations, government agencies,
universities, think tanks, regional and international non-government
organizations, individual scholars as well as mass media agencies.

As one of the NMCA's projects, the SRC issues an Electronic Weekly
Migration News Report in Central Asia (Weekly Reports). Since December
2007, the SRC has produced 29 Weekly Reports. The Weekly Reports
reflect current migration trends in Central Asia and are sourced from
more than 20 (twenty) electronic news outlets. The reports are
electronically distributed by the SRC every week. All the previous
issues of the Weekly Reports are available at the SRC 's website
(www.src.auca.kg). Each issue of the Weekly Report is also available
in hard copies at the SRC and upon request, they can be scanned by the
SRC staff and sent to our subscribers.

The SRC would like to thank the NMCA members for their valuable
contribution to the Weekly Reports. Most of our subscribers contribute
to the Weekly Reports by sending various news articles, research
reports and announcements related to migration in Central Asia.

The SRC team will continue making its Weekly Report better and
strengthening the NMCA with view to serve better the needs of our
subscribers.

If you are interested in joining our Network and receiving the Weekly
Reports, please send your contact info (full name, affiliation
institution, email address and full office address) to Ms. Ainura
Asamidinova, the NMCA Moderator, through e-mail at src.mrt@mail.auca.kg.

The SRC will be grateful if you could spread a word about our network
to all interested parties.

Thank you very much and the SRC is looking forward to future
cooperation with our current and new subscribers!
