Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and OSCE
Academy announce EXTENSION OF DEADLINE for applications for the Human Rights
Training Programme, which aims to improve Central Asian NGO capacity to
provide training, education, advocacy, etc. in human rights issues.
Deadline is extended till 15 October 2007.
Selected participants will receive a Sida scholarship covering all costs for
participation, including economy class travel, accommodation and meals.
Program structure:
Phase 1: Training of trainers (ToT), scheduled for 12 - 25 November 2007 in
Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Phase 2: Follow-up seminar, scheduled for 7 - 12 April 2008 at Issyk Kul
Lake, Kyrgyzstan.
Program is intensive and challenging, and consists of lectures, group work
and individual assignments.
Only citizens and permanent residents of Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of
Kazakhstan, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan
are eligible to apply.
Target group:
25 human rights NGO representatives.
- Applicants should be representatives of human rights NGOs with an
at least 2 year relevant working experience in the sphere of human rights;
- Applicants should demonstrate strong willingness and ability to
disseminate the knowledge and skills acquired during the program via
further training and teaching;
- Applicants should have excellent command of the Russian language;
- Applicants should be aged preferably between 25 and 50, have a
first level university degree and/or extensive professional experience;
- Applicants should be able and willing to work in a team and within
a multicultural environment;
- Applicants should be available for the whole period of the course
with no other commitments.
Application Procedure:
Applications should be filled out in Russian. The form can be
downloaded from the website of the OSCE Academy in Bishkek at
www.osce-academy.org/training.
Following documents are obligatory to accompany the application form:
- Draft of individual assignment, clearly stating nature, scope,
dates, purposes and expected outcomes of the proposed activity
(please consult
course brochure available at: www.osce-academy.org/training for
explanations), and;
- Recommendation letter from the participant's organization, signed
and stamped, and stating full contact details of the signing person.
The letter should also clearly indicate that the nominating
organization will provide the support necessary (financial and
otherwise) for the participant to achieve the objectives formulated in
the project.
The application should be submitted to the OSCE Academy by email as a single
scanned file, ref: "HR TCB" to: training@osce-academy.net or in a single
envelope by post to: 1 A, Botanichesky per., 720044 Bishkek, Kyrgyz
Republic.

Human Rights Training Program is one of the very important training, it should start everywhere and OSCE Training is also very important.
