INTRAC Training Course "Managing People," October 29-31, 2007
(3 days, non-residential, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan )
Dear Friends and Colleagues in Development:
We have pleasure in sending you information about 3-day course
"Managing People" which will be held in Bishkek on 29-31 October,
2007. Please note that the dates of this course have been changed.
The aim of the course is to help organisations achieve their strategic
aims through good human resource (HR) management.
This is the first time we have run this course in Central Asia. We
believe it will provide valuable assistance to local / regional
offices, managers of international programs and major local NGOs.
Often HR issues come low down on the management agenda - below project
management and reporting. Therefore this course will encourage
managers to consider what aspects of HR management need to be improved
locally. And how to encourage other managers plus local partner
organisations to take up this challenge.
The emphasis of the course will be on people and performance
management. This includes leading teams and working with people from
other cultures. It will be a practical approach, as usual for INTRAC,
with case studies and role plays. How to address poor performance,
conflict resolution, gender and diversity in the work environment: all
these difficult issues will be touched upon and placed in the HR
framework. All questions will be related back to participants' own
work and managerial responsibilities.
The course programme will be available soon. If you would like to see
it, please contact us at our Bishkek email.
