JOB- Chief of Party for the Afghanistan Higher Education Project, AED

The Academy for Educational Development (AED) is seeking a Chief of
Party for the Afghanistan Higher Education Project. The Chief of Party
(COP) is responsible for providing overall technical oversight and
management leadership to the project. The COP will lead a team of 60
professional and support staff, which comprises the project management
and implementation team. The COP is the prime contact for
USAID/Afghanistan and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)
counterparts and will work closely with USAID and MOHE officials to
implement all project activities. The COP is also responsible for
ensuring that the project meets its goals and obligations in a timely
fashion. The ideal candidate will have experience in higher
education, teacher professional development, and USAID project
management. Masters in one of the following or related fields:
Curriculum & Teaching, Education, Education Planning, Education Policy
and Educational Administration required or equivalent combination of
education and work experience. Doctorate preferred. 15 year(s) of
relevant experience required. Expertise in higher education
administration, secondary teacher professional development and/or
higher education faculty development required. Fluent English;
Dari/Pashto a plus. COP will manage a staff of 30+ people, located in
Kabul Afghanistan and surrounding regional areas.
