As part of a California State University Strategic Language
Initiative*, California State University, Fullerton, is initiating an
intensive immersion Persian language program.

The program begins with an intensive, six-week Summer course followed
by additional courses in the Fall.

Deadline for Application: April 20, 2007. Those admitted will
receive scholarship support that will cover virtually all expenses
including free campus housing.

The Summer course will be all-day long, Monday through Friday, from
June 25 through August 3, 2007.

The successful course students will earn college credits. And will be
introduced to Persian meals, cultural activities, and entertainment.

Starting from Fall, the students will be offered more Persian Studies
classes. The program will culminate in the Summer of 2008 with a
study abroad project. All related expenses - including books, travel,
field trips, and room & board - will be paid for through scholarships.

CSUF has been offering classes in Persian for past several years.
Persian is now considered to be a “strategic language” by the U.S.
Department of Defense and State Department. It is chosen to be
critical for national security, diplomacy, intelligence-gathering,
international business, and developing deeper levels of cross-cultural
understanding.

Students may also contact Ghazzal Dabiri, the Director of CSUF's
