Partnership with Asian Institute of Technology

From: The University of Central Asia (UCA)

The University of Central Asia (UCA) and the Asian Institute of
Technology (AIT) announced a partnership to develop a cadre of
Central Asian scholars and specialists in the fields of information,
communication and technology, public and private sector
administration, entrepreneurship, small and medium business, and
technical and vocational education training.

This programme will provide scholarships for Central Asian students
to conduct Master's and Doctoral studies at AIT as part of UCA's
Central Asian Faculty Development Programme (CAFDP), which is
designed to ensure that scholars from Central Asia with top
international academic credentials are strongly represented in the
UCA's faculty.

Graduates sponsored under this programme will be considered for
academic appointments in UCA's Graduate School of Development,
undergraduate School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Professional
and Continuing Education (SPCE), or for positions in the Construction
and Facilities Management division.

The partnership also envisages AIT's assistance in the development of
UCA's curriculum and learning resources in its graduate and
undergraduate programmes and collaborative research.

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) is an international post
graduate institute founded in 1959, and it is Asia's pioneer
institution established to help meet the region's growing needs for
advanced learning in engineering, science, technology and management,
research, and capacity building. AIT's mission is to develop highly
qualified and committed professionals who will pay a leading role in
the sustainable development of the region and its integration into
the global economy. AIT is based in Thailand and has affiliated
centers in other parts of the world.
